Sadly not had the best experience with Adam, last year2023 and this 2024. Had to ask several times last year to get simple things corrected and still wasn't done by the time I needed my yearly update for this year. Slow in carrying out work, poor communication and has ghosted since asking for a refund. So not very professional when you have an issue. ...

Thanks for the review Shane & sorry you feel this way. I'm totally unaware of any issues from our work last year as you hadn't mentioned anything . If anything was not as expected, I would have certainly been happy to know & improve my services.
This year, we were working on an SEO audit & if I was slow to reply at any stage then again, I apologise.
You did ask for a refund but didn't give a reason for this apart from you 'might be going in a different direction and no longer need the work doing'. I did ask what had happened, if the business is okay & if I could help with anything but you didn't tell me any more & just asked for a refund (minus work done).
I felt as though I deserved more detail than a simple change of mind with no reason. Maybe I'm wrong but either way, I can calculate a part refund for you as you asked as I would like to be fair in this respect.
I will carefully consider your review so that I can improve my services & sorry for falling short of your expectation.... 0

Adam assisted with overhauling our SEO strategy on our new website. It was a pleasure working with him and we felt very confident that we were in good hands from the outset. Thanks for your review Paul. You'll know that I expected this as you twice threatened me with a bad review if you didn't get a refund.
However, before I go into detail I'd like the readers of this to consider a couple of things:
1) The website on which I worked is https://www.paulgunningham.com/ and not the site that you seem to have linked to this review (https://pgi180.wixsite.com/oldimage) I just want that to be understood.
2) You haven't quantified anything in your false review. Maybe you could explain exactly what you had to do for this project?
I ask this because I can certainly tell you what I have done and I can back it up with all of the emails, documents, spreadsheets and screenshots that I have for this SEO project. I'm very thorough when it comes to record keeping.
So to summarise for you and the readers, on the 14th May you received an email from me outlining my Core SEO project and accepted it asking me to proceed. This is what I said I would do:
- An in depth keyword research and implementation phase
- Production of meta data for key website pages (up to 10), content and keyword information, updating of H1 titles and meta tags
- Site submissions to Google (as required)
- Addition of keyword 'tags' behind target pages for extra SEO exposure.
- We can format images to webp for fast loading and provide you with these to add to your website
- Alt text - labelling of images for the benefit of Google Images Search Engine and Accessibility
- Audit of Google products (Search Console and Analytics)
- Creation of 5 landing pages that are keyword and content rich. (These are duplicable)
- Layout amendments to improve upon spacing, margins and screen usage. This would not involve changing text or images; only layout.
I covered and undertook all of these tasks and provided you with data on Excel forms for keyword research and keyword strategy content on Word documents. You replied with acceptance for everything (documented on our emails) and always asked me to proceed with the project which I did.
You refused to complete my initial SEO brief and would not offer your opinion on your market or customer type at all. This collaborative approach is key to an effective SEO strategy. After all Paul, YOU are the industry expert. I cannot think of a reason why a business owner would not help someone to put together an effective SEO strategy and impart their knowledge to assist in this process! I have literally never experienced this before in the last 8 years and maybe 300 SEO strategy projects!
Amongst other questions, I asked for 3 competitor sites that you thought might be doing well in your area (after all Paul, the whole point of an effective SEO Strategy is literally appearing above your competition! Wo knows your competition better than you Paul?) and your thoughts on what people might put into Google to find your business. The reason I ask this is because it often gives me an idea of what you believe or want your customer to be (e.g. high end kitchens, budget kitches, kitchen renovator, new kitchens etc). From there, I do all the research starting with your information (and Google info, had you completed my initial SEO brief of course) and develop the strategy from there.
For some reason, despite authorising me to produce landing pages, add H1 headers and complete all the other tasks that you asked for, you have said that you didn't want any of this and that it wont help!
As stated, I have all the emails.All the spreadsheets. All the screenshots of this whole project. I have done everything that I stated apart from the Google Search Console submission (by this stage I did not want to access any of your accounts due to your repeated threats of bad reviews and refund demands) although I did provide you with clear instructions on how to submit your sitemap. It's an easy, 5 minute job.
Paul, I told you I would not be bullied into a refund with threats of a bad review and I will use this as a message to any other small business out there to trust in your own abilities and products, believe in what you do and not be bullied with threats of bad reviews.
I hope anyone reading this can take a few minutes to read the myriad of other recent reviews out there which are all 5 star and see this review for what it is: an attempt to get a refund from a client who didn't read any of the emails and the initial brief and just wouldn't work with me to let me help his business like I have helped so many others.
FINAL NOTE: Anyone who mentions the promotion code PG1 to me will receive a £75 discount on my Core SEO Strategy until the end of 2024!
