Every local business answers the same question all day: are you open right now? This puts the answer on the page — "Open now · closes at 17:30", or "Closed · opens Monday at 09:00" — above the week's hours, and keeps it right as the day passes. Your hours are read in your business's own time zone, never the visitor's, so a London shop is shut at 2am London time even to a visitor in Tokyo. Nothing stores a fixed offset, so the Sunday the clocks move needs no attention. The awkward cases are ordinary here. A bar open 16:00-02:00 is still open at 00:40. A kitchen open 12-3 and 6-11 is two sets of hours on one day. Round the clock is one setting. Close for Christmas or open late on New Year's Eve with dated changes that beat the weekly pattern. Optional LocalBusiness markup puts the same hours in search results. For anyone whose customers turn up or ring: cafes, bars, clinics, salons, garages, shops.
